About the Retreat
Samahita Yoga Retreats are for everyone, all ages and levels, sincerely looking to learn and build a stronger foundation for practice. For only a little extra money (compared to the Yoga Daily Program), you have a great opportunity to go deeper into the practice and put the entire practice into a larger context. It is the perfect balance between the Yoga Daily Program and one of our Centered Yoga courses. Although you have extra time with one teacher, there is still plenty of free time in the afternoons to relax, enjoy the beach and the quiet retreat environment.
Throughout the week you will be working with Amy and Elonne, building on the different yogic practices each day, so that you leave with some essential groundwork, a more profound understanding and a solid practice to take home with you. Those with a pre-existing practice will expand on their knowledge and foundation, leaving with greater clarity and a more refined practice.
Each Samahita Yoga Retreat week consists of the following:
- A full week to work with one of Centered Yoga's experienced teachers. All of our teachers have been trained extensively by the renowned Paul Dallaghan and O.P. Tiwariji.
- Morning intention work, followed by breath work and pranayama from the Kaivalyadhama/O.P. Tiwariji tradition and asana/poses and vinyasa/movement with breath based on a liberal approach to the Ashtanga Vinyasa tradition.
- Modifications as needed for different asanas/poses (both seated poses and training poses). We teach students to use props in order to accommodate everyone -- all ages and levels of students, regardless of the limitation, are welcome and encouraged to join.
- A chance for students either to begin to learn the Ashtanga Vinyasa system, or to improve on and expand their existing practice and experience. Again, all levels are welcome.
- Restorative asana practice in the afternoon – a relaxing way to finish the day.
- Extra time in the afternoon to workshop a specific aspect of the practice, answer questions and help students come to a greater understanding of Yoga in its entirety. This extra time is invaluable, as it puts the entire practice into a larger framework.
Although each week has all of the above listed offerings, there is a specific focus for each retreat, and they are taught by a particular teacher who will share their individual expertise and knowledge.
This Week's Focus: Align & Flow
This week will focus on teaching and improving proper alignment, technique and vinyasa (movement in and out of the poses with the breath). This is not to get us caught up in the physical form, but rather to keep us safe, to improve the mindfulness of the practice and eventually to help us go beyond the physical form.
About the Teacher
Arielle has been interested in human movement since she was a competitive teenage athlete, which led her to pursue her degree in Kinesiology. After her degree and years of competitive sports, she recognized the healing and balancing effects that a committed Ashtanga practice created within her own body. In 2005, Ariellecompleted the Centered Yoga Teacher Training, with Paul Dallaghan, where she was fortunate to be introduced to Sri O.P. Tiwari and the study of pranayama. In addition to travelling through Europe, South America, Central America, India, China and Southeast Asia, she returned to Thailand annually to grow in her practice,prior to making it her home in 2013.
Arielle teaches with humility and aims to guide students toward a better understanding of their physicality. Arielle also teaches anatomy in teacher trainings and continuing education courses, at Samahita and other yoga studios. She is grateful to her teachers, Paul Dallaghan, Tiwariji and R. The Daily Schedule
The program begins at 5pm on the first day of the retreat with a group welcome and departure is at 12pm on the last day.
The schedule is subject to change at the discretion of the teacher.

We only have two deluxe one bedroom suites located in our most private building closest to the sea. They have a private bedroom, living room, fully equipped kitchen, generous bathroom and an extra large balcony. Both suites offer a modern open living room with sofa bed, LCD TV, working desk and DVD/ iPod Stereo. They are perfect for a family or couple. The additional rate is a flat rate based on the room and is added on to the total rate package whether a single individual, couple or family.
Our guestrooms are set back just over 50 meters from the water to provide with you with a private community and greater security. A selection of our rooms enjoy this spectacular sea view, while others enjoy the tropical gardens scene.

I feel our everyday bad habits, such as drinking and eating unhealthy liquids and produce can creep up on us without realising the long term effects on the body. Doing a detox here at Samahita taught me so much about how my unhealthy habits over the years had affected my overall health.
