Colon Hydrotherapy is a safe, effective method of removing waste from the large intestine (colon). It involves the introduction of purified, temperature and pressure regulated water into the colon via the rectum; this is known as the ‘fill’ cycle. The water is then emptied from the colon releasing along with it the loosened toxic waste matter; this is known as the ‘empty’ cycle. During one forty-five minute treatment a number of ‘fill’ and ‘empty’ cycles are performed. Soothing abdominal massage during the treatment encourages the removal of hardened matter from the intestinal walls and the elimination of built-up gas and mucous.
Using state of the art equipment, our registered nurse and colonic expert conducts the treatment along with one of our highly skilled massage therapists, in a tranquil, healing environment.

Why Do You Need One?
Due to years of unhealthy living combined with an increase in environmental toxins, many of us have accumulated toxins in the colon. Sticky, undigested foods accumulate on the walls of the colon, making it difficult for the colon to function properly. The colon provides the nourishment that sustains all the tissues and organs of the body; it extracts water, salt and trace minerals from solid wastes before they are eliminated from the body. If the functioning of the colon is not correct, the health of the whole body is in jeopardy.
In Yoga and Ayurveda, the colon is the seat for Vata dosha, which is the primary form of energy and movement in the body. Vata dosha moves the other two doshas, and therefore supports all physiological activities. Ayurveda uses the concept of ama as a term for food that is absorbed into the system without having been properly digested. Partially digested material cannot be used by the system, and acts to clog it. Ama is generated by food that should go to form healthy tissue and instead becomes a substance that promotes disease. This is mainly a result of the over-consumption of processed foods and protein, especially meat. The human gut is too long for us to be healthy as carnivores, and high-protein foods tend to become stagnant in the intestines; stagnation encourages the production of putrefactive bacteria in the colon, which converts undigested food to ama. Ama can be eliminated over time though diet and the use of herbs to scrape it from the intestines. We recommend Colon Hydrotherapy as it clears the accumulation of ama from the entire colon, encouraging its proper functioning. Colon Hydrotherapy completely cleans out the colon, so we offer you proboitics to repopulate the healthy bacteria in the colon.
