Dharma Healing Fasting Course

September 18 - 25, 2010

with Dharma Healing's Hillary Hitt

About the Retreat

The reasons why we fast are vast as the reasons why we study Yoga, but there is a common point at which Fasting and Yoga combine to mutually support each other and ultimately illuminate our spiritual practice, our physical and mental evolution and Oneness with God.

In Sanskrit fasting is called Upavasa. Upa means up; vasa means to stay in divinity. So upavasa means staying close to God. The word fasting taken literally means constantly staying (up) in a state of divinity.

If we withdraw from satisfying our senses, especially the need to eat, and accept our hunger this may be the most dedicated act of being One with God. Possibly it is the greatest Yoga of all.

As when we do without food for a period of at least 1 week or more not only does the body get a very good rest, clean out and become more receptive and flexible, the mind opens to a brilliant opportunity to focus on what is essential, most incredible of all is the spirit feels pure, calm, blissful and ready for Life.

To decide to do a fast for one week takes great commitment, a powerful intention. Maybe it will be one of the greatest intentions you will ever have. It can also be one of the most wonderful gifts you can give yourself. Probably because when we give up something we love so much-and everyone loves their food-we are giving up that which we are most attached to. And in place of the food we give up comes the purest food of all: pure light, pure breath and pure life.

A week of fasting is like a long held pose, a perfect posture, a powerful statement of the Higher Self.

The Fasting Experience:

Our second YogaThailand - Dharma Healing Fasting course is a spiritually comprehensive educational introduction to the fasting process. During the week we will encompass several of the different systems of Yoga, especially Kriya, Kundalini, Bhakti and Hatha, as well as enjoy a daily morning practice at Yoga-Thailand.

Through daily Yoga practice, and the cleansing, detoxification, fasting process we let go of the old Karma awakening the Higher Divine forces that lie within, that oxygenate, empower and enlighten us, preparing us to become co-creators in the world we choose to live in.

During the week's course:

- We will experience the elimination fast along with "Kundalini Colonic" a form of colonic irrigation that cleanses the deep material-past karma from the intestinal tract. Classes include learning how to prepare for a future of eating "Lightly", called Upahara in Sanskrit, while embracing a way of life which enhances perfect physical, mental and spiritual health. . . Yoga and fasting will be intertwined from a practical and spiritually-authentic multi-perspective.

- We will let go of the old toxic material, go through the necessary changes that help us let go of what we don't need, becoming alive, aware and vibrantly healthy in a world of climate, cultural and cosmic change.

- We will concentrate on how to make positive, wise and loving choices in our everyday lives. Learning how be conscientious spiritual consumers, acquiring knowledge and motivation to conserve and bring forth a sustainable ecologically-holistic energy of Divine Intelligence that protects our selves and planet Earth.

Fasting is the most concentrated form of detox we can do. Each faster will learn how to work with their own personal process of cleansing body, mind and emotions and world as a marvelous tool for life.

Each faster will receive individual counseling with a private Iridology reading, learning about how to interpret your state of health and be given nutritional and psycho/spiritual guidance.
