The Program

The Yoga and Your Health retreat offers a practical approach to a healthy, balanced lifestyle. This retreat is for those wishing to make positive changes in their lifestyle to combat the pressures of today's modern living and its impact on our health.

On the Yoga and Your Health retreat you will enjoy:

  • Delicious home-cooked healthy meals

Practical afternoon sessions include:

  • Healthy cooking class
  • How to make your own nutritional health supplements
  • Neti (nasal cleansing),
  • Tratak
  • Introduction to self-massage, hand and foot reflexology.
  • Talk on healthy, balanced living
  • Discussion, Q & A

Yoga classes include:

  • Guided asana practice.
  • Ashtanga Yoga Mysore style will be available for those with an established self-practice
  • Restorative yoga
  • Breathwork, pranayama and meditation

The Teacher

Claudia

Claudia specializes on our Health and Wellness retreats and was the Wellness Director at Samahita Retreat for 3 years.  Claudia guided and supported our guests through healthy weight loss, detox and wellness programs since the center's beginning.  Claudia brings a wealth of knowledge and experience in the field of complementary health and wellbeing from her holistic health and yoga center in the UK, which she ran for many years until 2006. She completed her Centered Yoga Training in 2007, has taught retreats in India, Greece and Taiwan.  She has spent time in study in both Mysore with Pattabhi Jois and Sharath and also at The Kaivalyadham Yoga Institute with Sri Tiwari for pranayama.  Claudia continues to lead our retreats as a guest teacher throughout the year.

 

Schedule

The program begins at 5pm on the first day of the retreat with a group welcome and departure is at 12pm on the last day.
The schedule is subject to change at the discretion of the teacher.

7:00 am               Herbal tea
7:30 am Intention and Day Opening
Breathwork-Pranayama and Meditation
8:15 am Asana Practice: Guided asana practice. Ashtanga Yoga Mysore style will be available for those with an established self-practice
10:00 am Breakfast of fresh fruits, juices and cereals
1:00 pm Lunch of soup, steamed vegetables, rice, salads
3 - 3:30 pm Snack and refreshment
4:00 pm Practical sessions including: healthy cooking class, how to make your own nutritional health supplements, neti (nasal cleansing), introduction to self-massage and hand/foot reflexology talk on healthy, balanced living, discussion, Q & A
5:00 pm Restorative yoga asana and breath work
6:00 pm Dinner of soup or broth, steamed vegetables
6:00 - 9:00 pm Steam room available
7:30 pm Evening program - video, tratak, meditation
