Yoga Teacher Rachel Grey
Aside from practicing headstand fairly consistently from a young age as a child, Rachel's first connection with being taught yoga was in 1999 whilst working in London. Various styles and forms of yoga were explored, Iyengar for precision and form, Hatha for softness and grace among many other traditions.
She has steadily deepened her practice since, culminating with a life change and a year living in Asia, where she committed to a daily practice of Ashtanga with Paul Dallaghan, she studied closely with him and the other teachers at Samahita Retreat for 6 months, and in 2005 completed the Centered Yoga teacher's training.
Her desire to inquire further has led her to study around the world, with Sri K. Pattabi Jois in Mysore, various ashrams in India, New Zealand, and Australia. Goenka Vippassana Meditation in Nepal, and Pranayama trainings with O.P.Tiwariji.
Various workshops in London and New York have influenced her teaching, mainly the art of back bending and structural yoga therapy. She is lucky enough to have taught in London, Thailand and more recently Sydney where she resided for 3 years teaching Mysore, workshops, courses and classes.
She has always felt at home in Thailand, having gained certification in Traditional Thai Massage in 2002 and 2007 and practiced this ancient art since, she incorporates her intuitive knowledge of the body into her adjustments when teaching, and students appreciate her hands on approach.
