Yoga: The Joy of Practice
September 15 - 22, 2012
with Elonne Stockton
About the Retreat
In this retreat, we will develop our self-practice of yoga asana and breathwork - pranayama. At the same time, we will explore where the practice of yoga comes from, what the different elements of the practice are and why we practice yoga to begin with.
All levels are welcome. This is an opportunity to be in yoga, to live it, to immerse ourselves in the practice of yoga. It is a chance to be in a healthy and uplifting setting with like-minded people, learning about the practice while building something solid that we can take with us to enrich our lives. Get in it, and develop a love and appreciation for the practice. The joy is ours to celebrate; it is already in us.
Throughout the week, we will have morning breathwork - pranayama, intention setting, chanting and asana practice (led asana and self practice classes), afternoon discussions and restorative asana classes, and of course lots of bhakti/devotion! Some mornings there will be additional silent walks or walking meditations, and some evenings we will have optional kirtan, satsang and other activities.
Please join us!
About the Teacher
Elonne has been a committed yoga practitioner and devotee since the early age of 14. She has lived and taught in the Bahamas, Canada, India, the United States, and Taiwan where she has taught asana, pranayama, and meditation at yoga studios, ashrams, resorts, schools, orphanages, hospitals, and clinics.
In 2006, Elonne moved to Asia, where she met her teachers, Paul Dallaghan, O.P. Tiwari, and Richard Freeman.
As Elonne's understanding of the practice grows, she feels more and more like a beginner, and she is excited to continue this journey. She feels blessed by the opportunity to teach at Samahita Retreat, and she is extremely grateful for the chance to help others while she continues her own studies. For more see her full bio.

Today it was the first day I saw Ninette back in my school. She was with you
the last two weeks. She was / is so happy, that effected me so much, that I
needed to write you this to inform you about her happiness. She loved your
place! She brought so much happiness back to her first class at my studio.
Therefore I would like to thank you.
Temai, Lea and I would sincerely like to thank you all for the glorious time and learning experience you provided for us at Samahita Yoga Thailand.
We have arrived safely (and recovered quite successfully from jetlag) and look forward to continue all practices.
Temai misses all his recent friends and addictive environment but you know Temai he is back to his eating routine like expected :)
We enjoyed our time immensely and home to see you all soon!
Kind regards and best wishes,
Temai, Lea and Uzo, 2006
I found the retreat very nice and relaxing with the opportunity to do breathwork and yoga in the morning, eating healthy and delicious food and meeting nice people.

Samahita Retreat has definitely lived up to my expectations. The detox program was well organized and all the staff were very helpful and supportive. Coming here has been a great experience for me. I'd certainly recommend it to others who are considering a detox program in a nice, relaxing environment.
