Yoga: The Joy of Practice
September 15 - 22, 2012
with Elonne Stockton
About the Retreat
In this retreat, we will develop our self-practice of yoga asana and breathwork - pranayama. At the same time, we will explore where the practice of yoga comes from, what the different elements of the practice are and why we practice yoga to begin with.
All levels are welcome. This is an opportunity to be in yoga, to live it, to immerse ourselves in the practice of yoga. It is a chance to be in a healthy and uplifting setting with like-minded people, learning about the practice while building something solid that we can take with us to enrich our lives. Get in it, and develop a love and appreciation for the practice. The joy is ours to celebrate; it is already in us.
Throughout the week, we will have morning breathwork - pranayama, intention setting, chanting and asana practice (led asana and self practice classes), afternoon discussions and restorative asana classes, and of course lots of bhakti/devotion! Some mornings there will be additional silent walks or walking meditations, and some evenings we will have optional kirtan, satsang and other activities.
Please join us!
About the Teacher
Elonne has been a committed yoga practitioner and devotee since the early age of 14. She has lived and taught in the Bahamas, Canada, India, the United States, and Taiwan where she has taught asana, pranayama, and meditation at yoga studios, ashrams, resorts, schools, orphanages, hospitals, and clinics.
In 2006, Elonne moved to Asia, where she met her teachers, Paul Dallaghan, O.P. Tiwari, and Richard Freeman.
As Elonne's understanding of the practice grows, she feels more and more like a beginner, and she is excited to continue this journey. She feels blessed by the opportunity to teach at Samahita Retreat, and she is extremely grateful for the chance to help others while she continues her own studies. For more see her full bio.

This is the first time I have ever done anything like this. After 7 days of detox, I feel absolutely fabulous. I would certainly recommend this to anyone who is thinking about making changes in their lifestyle. And also to anyone who feels the need to cleanse or simply just to get away and relax. Amazing!
Great Experience : combines Yoga practice under excellent guidance and all expert, effective detox program. Will come back!

I came in as an agnostic and left a believer, food smells better and tastes even better after the detox (10 days). The yoga was brilliant. Feeling revived and renewed.

The overall detox program is wonderful. Each of us have been taken care of very nicely. The first day I received all the necessary information I should know and it helps alot to start the first day. The Detox meeting is very useful for increasing knowledge as each person experiences a different impact and effect from the detox. At the end I also received all the information I should know for transitioning from the detox. The staff and the director are very friendly. The accomodation is suitable for detoxing and helped me to understand why it was good for me to stay alone. I feel so light and wonderful after 7 days. Thank you Wellness and Samahita Yoga Thailand team so much. Namaste :-)
