Yoga: The Joy of Practice
September 15 - 22, 2012
with Elonne Stockton
About the Retreat
In this retreat, we will develop our self-practice of yoga asana and breathwork - pranayama. At the same time, we will explore where the practice of yoga comes from, what the different elements of the practice are and why we practice yoga to begin with.
All levels are welcome. This is an opportunity to be in yoga, to live it, to immerse ourselves in the practice of yoga. It is a chance to be in a healthy and uplifting setting with like-minded people, learning about the practice while building something solid that we can take with us to enrich our lives. Get in it, and develop a love and appreciation for the practice. The joy is ours to celebrate; it is already in us.
Throughout the week, we will have morning breathwork - pranayama, intention setting, chanting and asana practice (led asana and self practice classes), afternoon discussions and restorative asana classes, and of course lots of bhakti/devotion! Some mornings there will be additional silent walks or walking meditations, and some evenings we will have optional kirtan, satsang and other activities.
Please join us!
About the Teacher
Elonne has been a committed yoga practitioner and devotee since the early age of 14. She has lived and taught in the Bahamas, Canada, India, the United States, and Taiwan where she has taught asana, pranayama, and meditation at yoga studios, ashrams, resorts, schools, orphanages, hospitals, and clinics.
In 2006, Elonne moved to Asia, where she met her teachers, Paul Dallaghan, O.P. Tiwari, and Richard Freeman.
As Elonne's understanding of the practice grows, she feels more and more like a beginner, and she is excited to continue this journey. This is the second time I've done the detox and as last time, it has been a great experience. All the detox team, from the director to the therapists have been very supportive. I would definately do it again.

It was an amazing experience. I came here with lots in my mind. Specially negativity. But since the moment I arrived, I felt completely different, relaxed and calm. Over the days I also start to feel happy again. All the people is great, always with a smile in their face, and with lots of energy. The food is delicious. I really hope I can return again some time.

Many, many thanks for a beautiful experience at Samahita Yoga Thailand! Your warmth and hospitality turned a
nice vacation into a wonderful experience. I can not express the gratitude I feel for the guidance you
provided, Paul, in helping me to regain a practice I felt I had lost in my car accident. Thank you for your teaching, and for encouraging my progression.
Amanda, Seattle, US 2006
I came here hoping to get my practice back on track after dealing with an injury. This retreat helped me do that and more. The Wellness Director and the other instructors helped me develop a practice I can continue without further aggravating my injury. The health and wellness aspects were informative and fun and have given me lots of new practices and ideas to incorporate into my post-retreat life.

The detox program at Yoga Thailand is one of the best gifts that I have ever given myself. I came to the program a huge skeptic - in fact, I almost quit before I even started, but I am so glad that I went through with it. The emotional and mental clarity that I feel is indescribable - I was telling someone the other day that I feel happy in a way that I didn't know was possible. And aside (but not insignificant benefit) is the fact that I was able to bind in Marichyasana C on both sides after completing the detox. I have been working on that Asana for a year and have never once bound by myself. Two days after the detox, I popped right into it. I cannot say enough good things about Wellness Director and her staff, I fell in love with all of them.
