Yoga: The Joy of Practice

September 15 - 22, 2012

with Elonne Stockton

About the Retreat

In this retreat, we will develop our self-practice of yoga asana and breathwork - pranayama. At the same time, we will explore where the practice of yoga comes from, what the different elements of the practice are and why we practice yoga to begin with.

All levels are welcome. This is an opportunity to be in yoga, to live it, to immerse ourselves in the practice of yoga. It is a chance to be in a healthy and uplifting setting with like-minded people, learning about the practice while building something solid that we can take with us to enrich our lives. Get in it, and develop a love and appreciation for the practice. The joy is ours to celebrate; it is already in us.

Throughout the week, we will have morning breathwork - pranayama, intention setting, chanting and asana practice (led asana and self practice classes), afternoon discussions and restorative asana classes, and of course lots of bhakti/devotion! Some mornings there will be additional silent walks or walking meditations, and some evenings we will have optional kirtan, satsang and other activities.

Please join us!

Thanks Wellness Director and the whole Samahita team. Another interesting, well organized, body friendly week that makes me smile while I remember it. I will definitely take some ideas home to change my life.

Your team and you made wonderful 4 weeks for Anita, Livio and me. We are very thankful for all what we have learnt and all the affection we received. We will never forget this holiday.
Our aim is now to keep the praxis up on and off the mat and to implement everything we have learnt.
Roland family, Serbia 2009

This is my second visit to Samahita Retreat. To me, it is the perfect place because I can practice yoga and have my girl always with me. In addition to this the staff is fantastic, always helpful, always smiling and the food, which I didn't have the chance to enjoy this time is the best I can hope for. The detox program, has been so easy to be together with my family and the best has been feeling supported and nurtured.
Kelly, France, 3-day Detox 2013
