Yoga: The Joy of Practice

September 15 - 22, 2012

with Elonne Stockton

About the Retreat

In this retreat, we will develop our self-practice of yoga asana and breathwork - pranayama. At the same time, we will explore where the practice of yoga comes from, what the different elements of the practice are and why we practice yoga to begin with.

All levels are welcome. This is an opportunity to be in yoga, to live it, to immerse ourselves in the practice of yoga. It is a chance to be in a healthy and uplifting setting with like-minded people, learning about the practice while building something solid that we can take with us to enrich our lives. Get in it, and develop a love and appreciation for the practice. The joy is ours to celebrate; it is already in us.

Throughout the week, we will have morning breathwork - pranayama, intention setting, chanting and asana practice (led asana and self practice classes), afternoon discussions and restorative asana classes, and of course lots of bhakti/devotion! Some mornings there will be additional silent walks or walking meditations, and some evenings we will have optional kirtan, satsang and other activities.

Please join us!

Testimonials

Temai, Lea and I would sincerely like to thank you all for the glorious time and learning experience you provided for us at Samahita Yoga Thailand.

We have arrived safely (and recovered quite successfully from jetlag) and look forward to continue all practices.

Temai misses all his recent friends and addictive environment but you know Temai he is back to his eating routine like expected :)

We enjoyed our time immensely and home to see you all soon!

Kind regards and best wishes,

Om shanti,
Temai, Lea and Uzo, 2006

I am doing really well, I am continuing the practice of Ashtanga Yoga really seriously. I am doing my own practice from my house, I love it, and I have to say I think you would be proud of your student! Since last week I am trying Ashtanga's classes in different Studios in Montreal. I found one that I like so I am starting there next week. Thank you for introducing me to Ashtanga Yoga so well that I never want to stop it! It is changing my life it is so rewarding for me, more than I could ever imagine!

I would recommend this retreat to anyone feeling 'bogged' down in life. To come here and treat yourself is the biggest gift of all. I leave with an amazing feeling to deal with the 'real world' in better ways and look after myself.
