About the Retreat
In this retreat, we will develop our self-practice of yoga asana and breathwork - pranayama. At the same time, we will explore where the practice of yoga comes from, what the different elements of the practice are and why we practice yoga to begin with.
All levels are welcome. This is an opportunity to be in yoga, to live it, to immerse ourselves in the practice of yoga. It is a chance to be in a healthy and uplifting setting with like-minded people, learning about the practice while building something solid that we can take with us to enrich our lives. Get in it, and develop a love and appreciation for the practice. The joy is ours to celebrate; it is already in us.
Throughout the week, we will have morning breathwork - pranayama, intention setting, chanting and asana practice (led asana and self practice classes), afternoon discussions and restorative asana classes, and of course lots of bhakti/devotion! Some mornings there will be additional silent walks or walking meditations, and some evenings we will have optional kirtan, satsang and other activities.

About the Teacher
Elonne has been a committed yoga practitioner and devotee since the early age of 14. She has lived and taught in the Bahamas, Canada, India, the United States, and Taiwan where she has taught asana, pranayama, and meditation at yoga studios, ashrams, resorts, schools, orphanages, hospitals, and clinics.
In 2006, Elonne moved to Asia, where she met her teachers, Paul Dallaghan, O.P. Tiwari, and Richard Freeman.
As Elonne's understanding of the practice grows, she feels more and more like a beginner, and she is excited to continue this journey. She feels blessed by the opportunity to teach at Samahita Retreat, and she is extremely grateful for the chance to help others while she continues her own studies. For more see her full bio.

Samahita is a lovely retreat surrounded by lush nature, picturesque beach, beautiful and friendly staff and delicious food for those not on a detox. I envied the smell of food however my program was full of juices, coconut water and blended salad that I was able to stay focused and empowered knowing I was investing time, energy & money into feeling great and changing bad habits and forming new ones. I leave here feeling amazing and determined to try and continue healthy life style with yoga and nutrition.

My detox program was very enjoyable. I felt it was very well designed, both the food and the schedule. I was surprised that I was not hungry at all on the program and my cravings for sweets and coffee totally disappeared (and have not yet returned!)
The wellness team were very supportive and kind throughout the program. They made me feel special and like I was doing something good for myself.
Since completing the detox program I eat a lot less than before I started and I really enjoy fruits and juices much more now.
Before the program my body felt hot and heavy, I never thought it could feel so light, clean and cool as it does now

It was an amazing experience. I came here with lots in my mind. Specially negativity. But since the moment I arrived, I felt completely different, relaxed and calm. Over the days I also start to feel happy again. All the people is great, always with a smile in their face, and with lots of energy. The food is delicious. I really hope I can return again some time.
