Yoga: The Joy of Practice
September 15 - 22, 2012
with Elonne Stockton
About the Retreat
In this retreat, we will develop our self-practice of yoga asana and breathwork - pranayama. At the same time, we will explore where the practice of yoga comes from, what the different elements of the practice are and why we practice yoga to begin with.
All levels are welcome. This is an opportunity to be in yoga, to live it, to immerse ourselves in the practice of yoga. It is a chance to be in a healthy and uplifting setting with like-minded people, learning about the practice while building something solid that we can take with us to enrich our lives. Get in it, and develop a love and appreciation for the practice. The joy is ours to celebrate; it is already in us.
Throughout the week, we will have morning breathwork - pranayama, intention setting, chanting and asana practice (led asana and self practice classes), afternoon discussions and restorative asana classes, and of course lots of bhakti/devotion! Some mornings there will be additional silent walks or walking meditations, and some evenings we will have optional kirtan, satsang and other activities.

About the Teacher
Elonne has been a committed yoga practitioner and devotee since the early age of 14. She has lived and taught in the Bahamas, Canada, India, the United States, and Taiwan where she has taught asana, pranayama, and meditation at yoga studios, ashrams, resorts, schools, orphanages, hospitals, and clinics.
In 2006, Elonne moved to Asia, where she met her teachers, Paul Dallaghan, O.P. Tiwari, and Richard Freeman.
As Elonne's understanding of the practice grows, she feels more and more like a beginner, and she is excited to continue this journey. She feels blessed by the opportunity to teach at Samahita Retreat, and she is extremely grateful for the chance to help others while she continues her own studies. For more see her full bio.

This is my first time ever doing a detox program and Samahita Yoga Thailand has definitely made it a very impressive experience. I've been inspired to live a healthier lifestyle and would surely share this life-changing experience with my loved ones. Thank you Samahita Yoga Thailand.

My partner and I got a great deal out of the detox / wellness program; physically, spiritually and as a couple. As great checkpoint and reset for us. I would highly recommend it to others.

Hi Paul, Steve and I attended this year's x-mas yoga retreat with you.
We truly enjoyed the yoga program and learned a lot from you and the other
assistant teachers (they were all excellent). Also Samahita Yoga Thailand - is all
together, an exceptional place by all means. We'd love to come back. I'm
still working on my core strength, doing dynamic yoga, and will probably go
back to ashtanga afterwards.
The Wellness Director and the team at the wellness center are fabulous, right from the initial welcome meeting to the final goodbye. There is continues support throughout and even after with advice on what to eat and supplements to take for continued good health. I have a new respect for my colon!
