Yoga: The Joy of Practice

September 15 - 22, 2012

with Elonne Stockton

About the Retreat

In this retreat, we will develop our self-practice of yoga asana and breathwork - pranayama. At the same time, we will explore where the practice of yoga comes from, what the different elements of the practice are and why we practice yoga to begin with.

All levels are welcome. This is an opportunity to be in yoga, to live it, to immerse ourselves in the practice of yoga. It is a chance to be in a healthy and uplifting setting with like-minded people, learning about the practice while building something solid that we can take with us to enrich our lives. Get in it, and develop a love and appreciation for the practice. The joy is ours to celebrate; it is already in us.

Throughout the week, we will have morning breathwork - pranayama, intention setting, chanting and asana practice (led asana and self practice classes), afternoon discussions and restorative asana classes, and of course lots of bhakti/devotion! Some mornings there will be additional silent walks or walking meditations, and some evenings we will have optional kirtan, satsang and other activities.

Please join us!

Testimonials

We did a 7-day detox last year and I found it very hard. The Wellness Director said the results come afterwards, but I was skeptical. She was right and the weeks after detox I lost weight and felt really well. We've changed our eating habits alot in the last year and during this detox I've noticed a real difference - I feel well, have more energy, and I enjoyed the detox. The Wellness Director tips have been truely life changing for me. I now practice Yoga regularly and eat more healthily.

With the assistance of The Wellness Director, we achieved practicing the yoga, it became easier as the days went by. The quality to put forward her knowledge definitely shifted us in body and mind. We are different people. Also medically there have been some changes. The Wellness Director has been an angel along our path here.

We had such a pleasure of a stay at Samahita Yoga Thailand. Between Paul, Jutima and all the lovely staff, you have created such a precious oasis and sanctuary on Koh Samui. A centre filled with such light and consciousness!
We are hoping that Hillary will run another fast at Samahita Yoga Thailand next year. We'll do almost anything to come back again.
Please keep up the great work! :-)
Please thank all the staff for their wonderful service during our stay.
Many blessings and grateful thanks,
