Yoga: The Joy of Practice

September 15 - 22, 2012

with Elonne Stockton

About the Retreat

In this retreat, we will develop our self-practice of yoga asana and breathwork - pranayama. At the same time, we will explore where the practice of yoga comes from, what the different elements of the practice are and why we practice yoga to begin with.

All levels are welcome. This is an opportunity to be in yoga, to live it, to immerse ourselves in the practice of yoga. It is a chance to be in a healthy and uplifting setting with like-minded people, learning about the practice while building something solid that we can take with us to enrich our lives. Get in it, and develop a love and appreciation for the practice. The joy is ours to celebrate; it is already in us.

Throughout the week, we will have morning breathwork - pranayama, intention setting, chanting and asana practice (led asana and self practice classes), afternoon discussions and restorative asana classes, and of course lots of bhakti/devotion! Some mornings there will be additional silent walks or walking meditations, and some evenings we will have optional kirtan, satsang and other activities.

Please join us!

Testimonials

I arrived with the hope of helping my prostate pain. Through the yoga and meditation and the detox, more pain has been reduced. The program me was run in a friendly and professional manner, with a fantastic 'can do' attitude. Thank you to all the staff for your part in helping me destress, chill out, detox and immerse in the yoga.

Samahita is an excellent resort with everything geared towards healthy eating, drinking and exercise. The teachers were excellent and very motivating. The therapists were absolutely wonderful. Such nice, smiley people, but also very professional and knowledgeable. I have made many new friends here from all over the world. I would thoroughly recommend this place to a friend. The standard of the accommodation is of a very high level. The setting beside the beach is outstanding.

Hey Paul,
Many thanks to you and Jutima for your hospitality at your new place. It is absolutely brilliant; the best yoga centre I have ever been in for everything: the place, the food, the people, the atmosphere, the architecture, and most of all the quality of the yoga. Not only have you maintained the great feeling of the old place, you have gone way beyond it. It was such a privilege to be able to contribute to the opening.

We had such a pleasure of a stay at Yoga Thailand. Between Paul, Jutima and all the lovely staff, you have created such a precious oasis and sanctuary on Koh Samui. A centre filled with such light and consciousness! We are hoping that Hillary will run another fast at Yoga Thailand next year. We'll do almost anything to come back again. Please keep up the great work! :-) Please thank all the staff for their wonderful service during our stay. Many blessings and grateful thanks,

Dear all

Josie and I have just returned to London with heavy hearts - our week with you at Samahita Yoga Thailand was so much more profound and inspiring than we ever anticipated; we fooled ourselves into believing we could stay forever. Having had yoga taken away from us through injury, we are both so pleased to be able to practice again, even in the baby steps which we took during our week with you.

Congratulations to Paul and Jutima for creating such a fantastic haven for physical and spiritual growth in such an incredibly beautiful place - and our heartfelt thanks for allowing us to live in your world briefly.

We hope to be back in the blink of an eye.

Namaste
