Yoga: The Joy of Practice

September 15 - 22, 2012

with Elonne Stockton

About the Retreat

In this retreat, we will develop our self-practice of yoga asana and breathwork - pranayama. At the same time, we will explore where the practice of yoga comes from, what the different elements of the practice are and why we practice yoga to begin with.

All levels are welcome. This is an opportunity to be in yoga, to live it, to immerse ourselves in the practice of yoga. It is a chance to be in a healthy and uplifting setting with like-minded people, learning about the practice while building something solid that we can take with us to enrich our lives. Get in it, and develop a love and appreciation for the practice. The joy is ours to celebrate; it is already in us.

Throughout the week, we will have morning breathwork - pranayama, intention setting, chanting and asana practice (led asana and self practice classes), afternoon discussions and restorative asana classes, and of course lots of bhakti/devotion! Some mornings there will be additional silent walks or walking meditations, and some evenings we will have optional kirtan, satsang and other activities.

Please join us!

Testimonials

I really needed to make a change in my life, so by choosing Yoga Thailand I made a commitment away from my normal life. Outside the square! I had searched many places on the net. Yoga Thailand seemed the most professionally run. It was exactly that. I had a great time, hard to leave. It is a peaceful oasis, very relaxing and very caring staff. Exceeded all expectations. Thank you Yoga Thailand.

I was not really sure about the effects of yoga and detox on me when I arrived. However I was really stunned—only after 2 days I felt energized, calm, refreshed, slimmer, and more flexible. The staff are amazing, really friendly, attentive, caring, and approachable. They are also extremely knowledgeable. I feel like a new person. It might sound like an exaggeration but it really is not! Thank you so much for everything!

I had a wonderful 5 weeks at Samahita Yoga Thailand and feel very blessed having very coincidently found my way to you five years ago. I had no idea back then how dramatically this 2 weeks at YT would change my life to the better. I am glad to know you and that you are developing YT into such a brilliant place.
I am looking forward to spending lots of times with you.

You have played a special part in my yoga journey. I deeply appreciate, admire and respect you for your teaching and sharing of your wisdom with so much passion and light-heartedness. Through your great devotion, you helped me to take the journey into my own heart. To see the divine nature within us all. To understand happiness. And to know the true value of humility and gratitude.

I look forward to visiting you at the new retreat centre, hopefully in the new year. I hope all is going well.

With honour and love,

Just a quick mail to thank you both for making our visit to YT such a great experience. Everyone was fantastic with Harry which helps me enormously. He really seemed to enjoy himself, especially the beach and his trip to KFC! For me it was wonderful to be able to focus and connect with myself before moving! I so much enjoyed to wonderful food, Tiwari's wise words and Paul's guidence. And Jutima you probably get the least credit being a little in the background but doing all the hard work! I think along with Neil you will be very successful in your new venture!
