Yoga: The Joy of Practice

September 15 - 22, 2012

with Elonne Stockton

About the Retreat

In this retreat, we will develop our self-practice of yoga asana and breathwork - pranayama. At the same time, we will explore where the practice of yoga comes from, what the different elements of the practice are and why we practice yoga to begin with.

All levels are welcome. This is an opportunity to be in yoga, to live it, to immerse ourselves in the practice of yoga. It is a chance to be in a healthy and uplifting setting with like-minded people, learning about the practice while building something solid that we can take with us to enrich our lives. Get in it, and develop a love and appreciation for the practice. The joy is ours to celebrate; it is already in us.

Throughout the week, we will have morning breathwork - pranayama, intention setting, chanting and asana practice (led asana and self practice classes), afternoon discussions and restorative asana classes, and of course lots of bhakti/devotion! Some mornings there will be additional silent walks or walking meditations, and some evenings we will have optional kirtan, satsang and other activities.

Please join us!

Testimonials

I would like to thank you all for a wonderful two weeks, a time of rest, of opening and the beginning of healing for me. I am immensely grateful to all of you for your inspirational teaching and support, and for creating at Samahita Yoga Thailand an atmosphere of warmth, growth, clarity and light -- a natural extension of all of you.

Adele, 2007

I sort of surrendered to The Wellness Director and her team to take care of me during the program, and they did an excellent job. I lost 2.5 kg but felt so much better, healthier and my steps are lighter. The funny thing is, I didn't feel hungry during the program. Yoga classes were great and I enjoyed walking on the beach too. The massages where the best I have ever experienced.
GT, Malaysia 2010

I was very impressed by the whole program and I have done many detoxes. I think this is the 10th detox. I loved this one. Even though it was the Candida detox and quite challenging, what I feel like now was so worth it. The support throughout was amazing. The staff forever helpful even through my tough moments and grumpiness. I had all the detox reactions (mildly) and felt very good throughout. More importantly, the support post detox and the help have been fantastic. Thank you so much to Wellness Director and her team!
Tiana, Hong Kong 2010

After escaping a very stressful and toxic work situation, this retreat was exactly what the doctor ordered. The Wellness Director is an inspiration and I feel back on the road to recovering my equilibrium.
Willow, Germany 2010

I will return to Samahita Retreat for sure, either do a yoga retreat or/ and a detox program. Looking forward to it already
