About the Retreat
In this retreat, we will develop our self-practice of yoga asana and breathwork - pranayama. At the same time, we will explore where the practice of yoga comes from, what the different elements of the practice are and why we practice yoga to begin with.
All levels are welcome. This is an opportunity to be in yoga, to live it, to immerse ourselves in the practice of yoga. It is a chance to be in a healthy and uplifting setting with like-minded people, learning about the practice while building something solid that we can take with us to enrich our lives. Get in it, and develop a love and appreciation for the practice. The joy is ours to celebrate; it is already in us.
Throughout the week, we will have morning breathwork - pranayama, intention setting, chanting and asana practice (led asana and self practice classes), afternoon discussions and restorative asana classes, and of course lots of bhakti/devotion! Some mornings there will be additional silent walks or walking meditations, and some evenings we will have optional kirtan, satsang and other activities.

About the Teacher
Elonne has been a committed yoga practitioner and devotee since the early age of 14. She has lived and taught in the Bahamas, Canada, India, the United States, and Taiwan where she has taught asana, pranayama, and meditation at yoga studios, ashrams, resorts, schools, orphanages, hospitals, and clinics.
In 2006, Elonne moved to Asia, where she met her teachers, Paul Dallaghan, O.P. Tiwari, and Richard Freeman.
As Elonne's understanding of the practice grows, she feels more and more like a beginner, and she is excited to continue this journey. She feels blessed by the opportunity to teach at Samahita Retreat, and she is extremely grateful for the chance to help others while she continues her own studies. For more see her full bio.

It was my first detox. I found it an intense experience, mentally and physically. You realize lots of things, your body metabolism changes, and your thought processes too. You go through phases and learn to accommodate. You end up slightly changed and more aware of the connection between what you eat and how you feel. We are what we eat aren't we?

I joined the retreat to learn about yoga & nutrition. I learned that and so much more. I came away relaxed, rejuvenated and equipped with the tools and techniques to live a healthier, more balanced life. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
I thought detoxing would be a dreadful experience, but the staff here at Samahita surely do make it enjoyable. Not only did I get to know more about my body but I also got to make great friends. Everyone received me with a big smile. I felt at home here. I was afraid to even try yoga because I felt it wasn’t for me. (I’m not too flexible, I’m afraid.) But the instructors were great and taught me different ways to do the poses so that I could follow the class. I had a great time here! It will definitely be hard to go back to real life.
Staff at the Wellness Centre were excellent. Rooms very comfortable and great location. Very clean!
