Yoga: The Joy of Practice
September 15 - 22, 2012
with Elonne Stockton
About the Retreat
In this retreat, we will develop our self-practice of yoga asana and breathwork - pranayama. At the same time, we will explore where the practice of yoga comes from, what the different elements of the practice are and why we practice yoga to begin with.
All levels are welcome. This is an opportunity to be in yoga, to live it, to immerse ourselves in the practice of yoga. It is a chance to be in a healthy and uplifting setting with like-minded people, learning about the practice while building something solid that we can take with us to enrich our lives. Get in it, and develop a love and appreciation for the practice. The joy is ours to celebrate; it is already in us.
Throughout the week, we will have morning breathwork - pranayama, intention setting, chanting and asana practice (led asana and self practice classes), afternoon discussions and restorative asana classes, and of course lots of bhakti/devotion! Some mornings there will be additional silent walks or walking meditations, and some evenings we will have optional kirtan, satsang and other activities.
Please join us!
About the Teacher
Elonne has been a committed yoga practitioner and devotee since the early age of 14. She has lived and taught in the Bahamas, Canada, India, the United States, and Taiwan where she has taught asana, pranayama, and meditation at yoga studios, ashrams, resorts, schools, orphanages, hospitals, and clinics.
In 2006, Elonne moved to Asia, where she met her teachers, Paul Dallaghan, O.P. Tiwari, and Richard Freeman.
As Elonne's understanding of the practice grows, she feels more and more like a beginner, and she is excited to continue this journey. She feels blessed by the opportunity to teach at Samahita Retreat, and she is extremely grateful for the chance to help others while she continues her own studies. For more see her full bio.

I am happy to say that I celebrated New Year's eve on detox. It was one of the most rewarding and transformational experiences on both a physical and mental level. The staff were really helpful and supportive and not to mention full of useful information to absorb. I highly recommend this program to anyone who would like to gain more energy, mental clarity, better skin tone and a sense of inner awareness. What a way to compliment one's yoga practice and life!

This program has the supervision backed by extensive knowledge that I have found lacking at other detox retreats in Thailand. I cannot recommend it highly enough.

Dear friends at Samahita Yoga Thailand,
Thank you to all of you for making my first encounter with Ashtanga yoga so special, kind and healing! It is only coming back to regular life and practise in a somewhat "normal" shala that I fully understand how special Samahita Yoga Thailand is. I missed each and everyone of you today when I started the new year with my first class in Copenhagen. It is 3 degrees celsius here, freezing cold, and looking at the white walls of my new shala I truly missed the ocean and felt slightly lost in the new surroundings. How lucky I have been to get such a first class introduction in spectacular ambience.
Peace and smile

Coming out of the retreat healthier and with a good idea on how to maintain that-could not be better!
