About the Retreat
In this retreat, we will develop our self-practice of yoga asana and breathwork - pranayama. At the same time, we will explore where the practice of yoga comes from, what the different elements of the practice are and why we practice yoga to begin with.
All levels are welcome. This is an opportunity to be in yoga, to live it, to immerse ourselves in the practice of yoga. It is a chance to be in a healthy and uplifting setting with like-minded people, learning about the practice while building something solid that we can take with us to enrich our lives. Get in it, and develop a love and appreciation for the practice. The joy is ours to celebrate; it is already in us.
Throughout the week, we will have morning breathwork - pranayama, intention setting, chanting and asana practice (led asana and self practice classes), afternoon discussions and restorative asana classes, and of course lots of bhakti/devotion! Some mornings there will be additional silent walks or walking meditations, and some evenings we will have optional kirtan, satsang and other activities.

About the Teacher
Elonne has been a committed yoga practitioner and devotee since the early age of 14. She has lived and taught in the Bahamas, Canada, India, the United States, and Taiwan where she has taught asana, pranayama, and meditation at yoga studios, ashrams, resorts, schools, orphanages, hospitals, and clinics.
In 2006, Elonne moved to Asia, where she met her teachers, Paul Dallaghan, O.P. Tiwari, and Richard Freeman.
As Elonne's understanding of the practice grows, she feels more and more like a beginner, and she is excited to continue this journey. She feels blessed by the opportunity to teach at Samahita Retreat, and she is extremely grateful for the chance to help others while she continues her own studies. For more see her full bio.

It is like an Eden's garden here. The people are soft spoken, calm and friendly (both clients and staff) and the environment makes your mind immediately calm down. I keep telling myself this is what life should be! Definately will come back again!

I can truly recommend Samahita Retreat. They are professionals who know exactly what to do and are able to tailor the detox program to your needs. With the combination of yoga, this retreat exceeded all my expectations.
I was not really sure about the effects of yoga and detox on me when I arrived. However I was really stunned—only after 2 days I felt energized, calm, refreshed, slimmer, and more flexible. The staff are amazing, really friendly, attentive, caring, and approachable. They are also extremely knowledgeable. I feel like a new person. It might sound like an exaggeration but it really is not! This is my second time doing Detox at Samahita and both times the experience and the results have been amazing. I not only lost weight, but felt lighter physically and mentally. I was able to re - connect with my body and really get rid of all the toxins. The place, the teachers, the trainers and the whole staff really made my detox a great experience. This is my second visit to Samahita Retreat. To me, it is the perfect place because I can practice yoga and have my girl always with me. In addition to this the staff is fantastic, always helpful, always smiling and the food, which I didn't have the chance to enjoy this time is the best I can hope for. The detox program, has been so easy to be together with my family and the best has been feeling supported and nurtured.
