Yoga: The Joy of Practice

September 15 - 22, 2012

with Elonne Stockton

About the Retreat

In this retreat, we will develop our self-practice of yoga asana and breathwork - pranayama. At the same time, we will explore where the practice of yoga comes from, what the different elements of the practice are and why we practice yoga to begin with.

All levels are welcome. This is an opportunity to be in yoga, to live it, to immerse ourselves in the practice of yoga. It is a chance to be in a healthy and uplifting setting with like-minded people, learning about the practice while building something solid that we can take with us to enrich our lives. Get in it, and develop a love and appreciation for the practice. The joy is ours to celebrate; it is already in us.

Throughout the week, we will have morning breathwork - pranayama, intention setting, chanting and asana practice (led asana and self practice classes), afternoon discussions and restorative asana classes, and of course lots of bhakti/devotion! Some mornings there will be additional silent walks or walking meditations, and some evenings we will have optional kirtan, satsang and other activities.

Please join us!

Testimonials

I appreciated the time spent by staff in talking through your issues during the program. The flexibility in the timetable so as not to disrupt the yoga program is very professionally done! I hope to redo it again

The Wellness Director was great. Very knowledgeable and calming at the same time which made the week feel very supportive. I'm very happy I chose to spend a week doing this for myself. I didn't know what to expect and it wasn't always easy, but in the end it was worth the time and energy to get back on track.
Matthew, USA 2010

I would recommend this retreat to anyone feeling 'bogged' down in life. To come here and treat yourself is the biggest gift of all. I leave with an amazing feeling to deal with the 'real world' in better ways and look after myself.

Dear all

Josie and I have just returned to London with heavy hearts - our week with you at Samahita Yoga Thailand was so much more profound and inspiring than we ever anticipated; we fooled ourselves into believing we could stay forever. Having had yoga taken away from us through injury, we are both so pleased to be able to practice again, even in the baby steps which we took during our week with you.

Congratulations to Paul and Jutima for creating such a fantastic haven for physical and spiritual growth in such an incredibly beautiful place - and our heartfelt thanks for allowing us to live in your world briefly.

We hope to be back in the blink of an eye.

Namaste
Wally & Josie, 2007

You have played a special part in my yoga journey. I deeply appreciate, admire and respect you for your teaching and sharing of your wisdom with so much passion and light-heartedness. Through your great devotion, you helped me to take the journey into my own heart. To see the divine nature within us all. To understand happiness. And to know the true value of humility and gratitude.

I look forward to visiting you at the new retreat centre, hopefully in the new year. I hope all is going well.

With honour and love,
Natalie, 2008
