Yoga: The Joy of Practice

September 15 - 22, 2012

with Elonne Stockton

About the Retreat

In this retreat, we will develop our self-practice of yoga asana and breathwork - pranayama. At the same time, we will explore where the practice of yoga comes from, what the different elements of the practice are and why we practice yoga to begin with.

All levels are welcome. This is an opportunity to be in yoga, to live it, to immerse ourselves in the practice of yoga. It is a chance to be in a healthy and uplifting setting with like-minded people, learning about the practice while building something solid that we can take with us to enrich our lives. Get in it, and develop a love and appreciation for the practice. The joy is ours to celebrate; it is already in us.

Throughout the week, we will have morning breathwork - pranayama, intention setting, chanting and asana practice (led asana and self practice classes), afternoon discussions and restorative asana classes, and of course lots of bhakti/devotion! Some mornings there will be additional silent walks or walking meditations, and some evenings we will have optional kirtan, satsang and other activities.

Please join us!

Knowing that a number of people are doing retreat detoxes here made me feel good about my choice to come to a detox place. I will definitely come back if I can. I felt right at ease and at home with the people, the staff, the teachers and the practice. I am excited about the life-changing experience I had at Yoga Thailand and I hope I can sustain/continue this learning when I go back to the Philippines.
Venus, Philippines 2013

Thank you very much again for the very inspiring and at the same time fun yoga retreat, it was a fantastic experience! Not only because I learned a lot and because I found in Ashtanga the form of yoga that really fits me and which I definitely want to further develop, but also because I met a lot of great people with the same interests, who I hope to meet again in the future.
Ingrid, Netherlands 2006

Having done several other detox programs in other countries, I rate this one the best. Friendliest staff, most information and support, individual attention.
