Yoga: The Joy of Practice

September 15 - 22, 2012

with Elonne Stockton

About the Retreat

In this retreat, we will develop our self-practice of yoga asana and breathwork - pranayama. At the same time, we will explore where the practice of yoga comes from, what the different elements of the practice are and why we practice yoga to begin with.

All levels are welcome. This is an opportunity to be in yoga, to live it, to immerse ourselves in the practice of yoga. It is a chance to be in a healthy and uplifting setting with like-minded people, learning about the practice while building something solid that we can take with us to enrich our lives. Get in it, and develop a love and appreciation for the practice. The joy is ours to celebrate; it is already in us.

Throughout the week, we will have morning breathwork - pranayama, intention setting, chanting and asana practice (led asana and self practice classes), afternoon discussions and restorative asana classes, and of course lots of bhakti/devotion! Some mornings there will be additional silent walks or walking meditations, and some evenings we will have optional kirtan, satsang and other activities.

Please join us!

Testimonials

A worthwhile time to spend giving back to yourself. If I could stay here for a month, I would. The entire wellness team are magical. All so lovely and friendly. Always so keen to help and they are all an absolute pleasure.
Melanie, United Kingdom, 7-day Detox 2013

I came here hoping to get my practice back on track after dealing with an injury. This retreat helped me do that and more. The Wellness Director and the other instructors helped me develop a practice I can continue without further aggravating my injury. The health and wellness aspects were informative and fun and have given me lots of new practices and ideas to incorporate into my post-retreat life.

I can't believe it has been four months and I'm still not ready to leave Yoga-Thailand--but, I have to go. I came to Yoga-Thailand to "do yoga" and instead I gained an Ashtanga yoga practice and many valuable friendships. You have taught me the importance of living yoga on and off the mat. Throughout my experience, I have felt so much support and love that I simply could not leave after just 3 weeks.

You already know how special your staff is but, Neil, Lana, Sarah, Lynn, Nee and Nong make your shala on the beach so unique.

I wish you nothing but success in the future as the new Samahita Yoga Thailand becomes a reality, and I will be there to support you all the way!

Love and true gratitude
