The Program

If you feel overwhelmed by the challenges of daily life or want to learn how to be better equipped to deal with everyday pressures, the de-stress & Yoga retreat is for you. Learn how to manage stress with the help of yoga practice and healthy eating, in the tropical and serene environment of Samahita Retreat. Regain your wellbeing with some basic tools to take home with you, tools that will help you embrace the ever-increasing stresses of today's world.

Modern day stress factors include excessive stimulation to the nervous system from computers, TV, fast paced living and high work demands. Additionally, any personal crisis and trauma create additional pressure. This can disturb the natural functioning of the digestion, immune system and mind, leading to:
Anxiety, Anxiousness, Worry, Insecurity, Lack of Self Esteem, Adrenal Fatigue, Immune System and Digestive Disorders, Grief, Nervousness, General Stress, Physical Tension, Emotional Issues, Addictions, Lack of Sleep and Tiredness.

This retreat is designed to deal with the effects of stress using a fresh, natural, whole foods diet. We use foods that are home-made in our kitchen and highly nutritional juices and supplements from our Wellness Centre. Yoga, Meditation and Relaxation techniques will be taught with our Senior Yoga Teacher Rachel Grey. Educational talks will be led by our Nutritional Director.

By gaining better nourishment for the body and peace of mind, we become more alive, supported and energized. Re-establish a secure, supported and more grounded feeling from within by learning how to build the foundation of a daily practice to continue at home. Rachel

RachelRachel has practiced and had interests in various styles of yoga since 1999, and felt that all of it led to a greater understanding of her current practice. She completed her Centered Yoga teachers training with Paul in 2005 and has returned regularly to SYT over the last 5 years.

Her main focus in teaching is to create an appropriate intelligent bridge to the dynamic form of Ashtanga, breaking it down so that each person is practicing to their own level and reaching their potential.

She has taught in London, and more recently in Sydney focussing on courses, workshops and Mysore classes. She uses her experience from her daily yoga practice, workshop intensives in yoga therapy, back bending and inversions combined with Thai massage experience for a holistic approach to teaching and when giving adjustments to share the joy of yoga.bio.

Andrea

AndreaAndrea is a Registered Dietitian through the American Dietetic Association. She completed her Nutrition Degree at Bastyr University in 2011, immediately followed by a Dietetic Internship through Sodexo's Distance Program. Andrea has over 5 years' experience in clinical, food service & community nutrition settings where she takes great interest in cooking, nutritional counseling and kidney disease. She leads an extremely active lifestyle in her home town of Seattle Washington where she runs, bikes, hikes, backpacks & cross country skis regularly. A constant interest in overall mental & physical wellbeing as well as a keen sense of adventure has brought her to Ko Samui to share her nutrition knowledge with all that come to Samahita. Schedule

The program begins at 5pm on the first day of the retreat with a group welcome and departure is at 12pm on the last day.
The schedule is subject to change at the discretion of the teacher.

7:30 am                  Day Opening, Breathwork-Pranayama
8:00 am Asana Practice: Ashtanga Vinyasa Led and Self Practice Classes
10:00 am - 1 pm Brunch Buffet
4 - 6 pm Practical Sessions followed by Restorative Yoga
6 pm Dinner Buffet
7:30 pm Optional Evening Program - Video, Tratak or Mediation

Upgrade to our Deluxe Suite additional cost on the total program package:

We only have two deluxe one bedroom suites located in our most private building closest to the sea. They have a private bedroom, living room, fully equipped kitchen, generous bathroom and an extra large balcony. Both suites offer a modern open living room with sofa bed, LCD TV, working desk and DVD/ iPod Stereo. They are perfect for a family or couple. The additional rate is a flat rate based on the room and is added on to the total rate package whether a single individual, couple or family.

Our guestrooms are set back just over 50 meters from the water to provide with you with a private community and greater security. A selection of our rooms enjoy this spectacular sea view, while others enjoy the tropical gardens scene.
