About the Retreat
A wonderful opportunity to take time out at the end of the year, this retreat provides a nurturing and healing environment, giving you time and space to unwind and focus on yourself and your yoga practice.
This retreat is open to everyone, offering a solid foundation for newer students beginning yoga, and refinement and depth to students with an established practice.
Twice daily yoga sessions will form the heart of the retreat, and you will instantly feel at ease in the fun and uplifting classes. Daily classes will be fully instructed as we work together intelligently with the body, to guide you through Ashtanga Vinyasa and Pranayama (Controlled Breathing), with the option of Mysore (self practice) later in the week. Along with clear and detailed instruction, the personalised teaching approach will support your individual needs. The afternoon sessions will allow time for discussion, Q&A and a relaxing restorative class to close the day.
There will also be plenty of free time to take advantage of the healing spa & wellness treatments or simply enjoy the beautiful surroundings and relax by the pool.
A perfect way to take some breathing space at the end the year, leaving you relaxed, clear and present.
About the Teacher
Paul Chambers infuses his life and teaching with devotion to yoga, gratitude and love.
Paul teaches from direct experience in his own practice, giving clear and focused instruction to students whilst still encouraging exploration of the poses and the nature of breath. His classes are fun and uplifting; working intelligently with the body to safely guide his students through yoga Asana and Pranayama (Controlled Breathing). Paul translates the awareness of breath and movement into a graceful and transformative experience for his students. For full bio click here.
Alison Chambers is passionate about life and yoga and believes that yoga should be accessible to everyone, regardless of age, flexibility or body condition.
With a positive and friendly teaching style, Alison teaches asana and pranayama from the heart, drawing on her own direct experience of dedicated practice. With the ability to put across both technical and subtle points in a simple and easy-going manner, Alison supports each student, ensuring they get the most they can out of each class. Alison creates a nurturing atmosphere in her classes, using a combination of theory and practice, plus her Scottish sense of humor to keep the classes refreshing and light!
Now based in Cairns, Queensland, Alison is originally from Scotland and has been living in Australia for the last 13 years. Alison runs Soul Train Yoga at The Tanks Arts Centre in the middle of the tropical Botanic Gardens in Cairns. Having studied many aspects of the meditative art and science of yoga over the years, her main teacher is Paul Dallaghan, where she continues to study each year.

The Daily Schedule
The program begins at 5pm on the first day of the retreat with a group welcome and departure is at 12pm on the last day.

Deluxe One Bedroom Suite
We only have two deluxe one bedroom suites located in our most private building closest to the sea. They have a private bedroom, living room, fully equipped kitchen, generous bathroom and an extra large balcony. Both suites offer a modern open living room with sofa bed, LCD TV, working desk and DVD/ iPod Stereo. They are perfect for a family or couple. The additional rate is a flat rate based on the room and is added on to the total rate package whether a single individual, couple or family.

Michelle leads us to observe the breath to be aware of our body sensations, change of emotions and the movement of thoughts. Furthermore to use such awareness on the mat to trace back on our own life experience and also cultivate the loving-kindness and compassion towards self and others. This practice will also extend outside of yoga mat, the loving-kindness and compassion let us know that we are not alone and this is an important life skill for people nowadays.
