Yoga Music at Samahita Retreat
Introducing Samahita Live
Samahita Live is a unique compilation led by Irish folklorist and musician Jack Harrison and contemporary singer/songwriter Daphne Tse. The album was recorded live by Gray Bashew at Samahita during the July 2014 retreat, with renowned pranayamaĀ and yoga teachers Sri. O.P. Tiwari and Paul Dallaghan.
About The Albums
Each of the Samahita Live Tracks hasĀ been chosenĀ to reflect both traditional Sanskrit and contemporary folk music. The album is an uplifting celebration of yoga, music and chanting, featuringĀ live performances, call and response Kirtan and powerful, intimate, acoustic sets.
Samahita Live is the first album to premiere Daphne’s Krishnaya Vasudevaya, written especially for the retreat and sang with Gill Breetze. You can also experience the high energy of Jack Harrison’s Narayana and Hare Krishna songs, performed with Amy Arman.
Samahita Live features a selection of tracks made from the rich, audio soundtrack of Samahita Retreat, Koh Samui. These include samples of the traditional Vedic fire ceremony and Pali chanting from local Thai Monks, a unique Kurdish twist on Vande Gurunam andĀ traditional slokasĀ from Sri. O.P. Tiwari.
We hope you enjoy the music and share it with your friends and students.

āSamahita is the birthplace of yoga music for me and I love coming back. Making this CD has been a complete joy from beginning to end. Recording music live can be challenging but in this case it all just seemed to flow and you can feel the special atmosphere through the music. It is a very special place.ā

Wind Across the sea
Yoga and music come together in this compilation of Sanskrit chants and devotional songs arranged andĀ produced by Irish folklorist and musician Jack Harrison. Recorded at the original Samahita Retreat, Yoga Thailand in 2007,Ā with guest-participants from all over the world, Wind Across the Sea is a celebration of three great traditions – theĀ yogic heritage of India and Her chants, the music of Ireland, and Buddhist meditation practices ofĀ Thailand – all of which have elements remarkably close to each other.

In Loving Memory
This poem is dedicated to Jo, who brought joy and music to Samahita.
Do not stand at my grave and weep
I am not there. I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow.
I am the diamond glints on snow.
I am the sunlight on ripened grain.
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you awaken in the morning’s hush
I am the swift uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft stars that shine at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry;
I am not there. I did not die.
